The best-decorated houses for Halloween in Perth, as well as tips on how to safely trick or treat during COVID-19.

It’s almost that time of the year again when all the creepy and scary creatures of the night come out to play. When we say creepy and scary, we actually mean loud and hypo.

And with creatures of the night, we actually mean sugar-fueled kids dressed as ghouls & ghosts terrorising the neighborhood. But hey, who’s one to deny our children the true experience of Halloween and just how much fun it can be.

As a child, my parents would never let me roam the streets, let alone going door-to-door and asking for lollies. I mean, I was brought up in a time of ‘stranger danger’. I’m sure this still applies in modern times, however the times have changed.

Thanks to the internet providing a wealth of information and a couple of good folks over at trickortreatme, you can now find out the spookiest and safest neighbourhoods to trick or treat in.

If you’re looking for a fun family night out filled with horror, rampant rugrats on a sugar high, and bewitching home decorations, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s where to find the best places to go for Halloween in Perth.

Make sure to check out the latest updates on COVID-19 and practice social distancing and good hygiene habits outlined by the Western Australian Government.

Safety tips on handing out lollies

  • Make sure to put a sign on your door on window that says you welcome trick or treating
  • To be on the safe side, wear gloves when handing out any lollies
  • Only buy bags of individually wrapped lollies
  • Avoid letting kids grab lollies, instead place them in the bag for them with gloves on or tongs

Safety tips for trick or treating

  • Avoid touching your face
  • Carry hand sanitiser with you and use it consistently, especially after ringing doorbells and knocking on doors
  • Practice social distancing of 1.5metres away from others at all times
  • Avoid making unnecessary physical contact with others (handshakes, hugs or kisses)
  • Use a disposable trick or trick bag that can be thrown out later
  • Only accept treats that are wrapped, and wipe down your loot for the night with a wet cloth and safe soap.
